Autumn at Saints
Autumn has arrived, and with it comes a lovely mix of change, celebration and a little bit of forward planning here at Saints Hairdressing in St Neots.
The salon always has a slightly different feel at this time of year. Cosier colours start appearing in appointments, more clients begin thinking about winter hair health, and the Christmas diary starts filling much quicker than anyone expects.
This year, autumn also brings some special team news. Our lovely Britney has begun her maternity leave, Daisy has reached a brilliant milestone in her hairdressing journey, and Lynda has exciting news to share too. We also have a gentle reminder about Christmas bookings and a little Sebastian Professional treat for anyone wanting to refresh their at-home haircare.
Here is everything we wanted to share with you.
Britney has started her maternity leave
We wanted to begin with an update about our lovely Britney.
Britney is expecting a baby girl in November, which is such wonderful news, and she has now started her maternity leave slightly earlier than originally planned.
Although it was not quite the timing she had hoped for, the most important thing is that Britney and her baby are safe, happy and well. After lots of thought, we all agreed that beginning her maternity leave early was the best decision for her.
We know this may mean that some clients did not get the chance to see Britney for one final appointment before she headed off. We completely understand that can feel a little unexpected, especially when you have been looking forward to seeing her before such a special moment in her life.
Thank you to everyone for being so kind, understanding and supportive. It really does mean a lot.
Britney is such a loved part of Saints, both by the team and by so many of our clients. She brings so much warmth, care and fun into the salon, and we are all very excited for her as she prepares for this incredibly special new chapter.
Please join us in wishing Britney all the very best for the weeks ahead. We are sending her so much love as she rests, prepares and gets ready to welcome her baby girl.
The Saints team cannot wait to meet her little girl, enjoy plenty of cuddles and welcome the newest member of the Saints family.
We are celebrating Daisy and Lynda
Alongside Britney’s lovely news, we also have some brilliant team achievements to celebrate.
One of the nicest parts of salon life is watching people grow in confidence. Hairdressing is such a hands-on career. It takes practice, patience, creativity and a real willingness to keep learning. So when someone reaches an important milestone, it deserves a proper moment.
Daisy is now officially a Graduate Stylist!
A huge congratulations to Daisy, who passed her End Point Assessment over the summer.
This is a big achievement, and it means Daisy is now officially a Graduate Stylist.
For anyone who has not heard of an End Point Assessment before, it is the final stage of an apprenticeship. It brings together the skills, knowledge and practical understanding a stylist has built over their training. Passing it is a real moment of pride.
Daisy has worked so hard to reach this point, and we could not be happier for her. She should be incredibly proud of what she has achieved.
Of course, hairdressing never really stands still. Every stylist, no matter how experienced, keeps learning. New colour techniques appear, products change, trends come and go, and every head of hair brings something different.
Daisy will continue learning, developing and building her confidence as a stylist. She may still ask the salon’s more experienced team members for guidance along the way, and that is exactly how it should be. Support is part of how a good salon team works.
What matters is that she is doing brilliantly, and it has been lovely to see her grow into this next stage of her career.
Lynda is taking another step forward...
We are also delighted to share some lovely news about Lynda.
From 1 October, Lynda will take another well-deserved step forward at Saints as her role continues to grow within the salon. She is being promoted to Creative Director.
Lynda has put so much care, effort and dedication into her work, and this next step reflects that. She is a thoughtful and valued part of the team, and we are really pleased to see her continue developing her skills and confidence.
Moments like this matter to us. They show the work that happens behind the scenes, not just the finished result in the mirror. There are consultations, colour choices, cutting techniques, product decisions and all the small details that go into helping each client feel looked after.
We are really proud of both Daisy and Lynda. Please do give them a big congratulations next time you are in the salon.
Christmas appointments are starting to fill
We know it still feels early to talk about Christmas, but in salon terms, it really is just around the corner.
December is always one of our busiest times of the year. Between parties, family plans, work events and wanting to feel fresh for the festivities, appointments tend to go quickly. This is especially true for evenings, Saturdays, colour appointments and any dates close to Christmas week.
If you know you would like your hair done before Christmas, please try to book as soon as you can.
This helps us look after everyone properly. It also gives you the best chance of getting a date and time that works for you, rather than trying to squeeze something in at the last minute.
A few appointments to think about include:
A colour refresh before the festive season
A cut and finish to tidy up your shape
A toner to brighten blonde or balayage
A conditioning treatment if your hair feels dry
A blow dry for a Christmas meal, party or special day
A post-Christmas tidy-up ready for January
If you are not sure what to book, just ask us. We would much rather help you choose the right appointment length than have you feel rushed on the day.
Colour appointments in particular often need more time, especially if you are planning a change, refreshing a balayage, covering regrowth or adding a treatment. A quick message or chat with the team can make all the difference.
A little Sebastian Professional treat
We also wanted to introduce a special retail treat for autumn.

Autumn is a good time to check in with your hair
Autumn can be a funny season for hair. After summer, hair can sometimes feel a little tired. Sun, heat styling, holidays, swimming, air conditioning and a change in routine can all leave hair needing extra care.
Then, as the weather shifts, many people start to notice dryness, static or a change in how their hair behaves. Scarves, coats, heating and cooler air can all play a part.
This does not mean you need a big change. Sometimes the smallest adjustments make the biggest difference.
